Hello my Mackie familly,
What I have is a D8B connected to a Tascam Mx2424 (3 light pipes)
D8B mohter board is the 300 MHZ, 128 MB SSD RAM, 20GB IBM Deskstar original HD, 1MFX, 1UFX card, 1Apogee card, all were worknig fine till tow weeks ago and here is the issue:
I have my arranger connected to CH2-3 or any input I have audio on my HR824 Left & right after a few minutes I loose audio all I see is some steady led bars on CH 2-3 and master LEDs NO sound out of monitors nor on the headphones when I reboot all starts OK till it descides to quit no specific quit time (5, 8, 20 , 2,.... minutes) or after plying for a few minutes I stop when I want to ply again later (5-10 minutes)no Audio unless I reboot the system then again the same deal!
waht I did:
replace CMOS battery
replace SSD RAM 128 MB
replace HD (SEAGATE beracuda 20 GB) (patritioned on a PC) formated with D8B OS 5.1 build445 disc 1 format utility ON
reset BIOS to 300 MHZ board settings
Same deal
Any help?

Thanks,
What I did last was at the CMOS set up just yes to optimum performance set up (verses settings page by page) save and exit eject the flopy let D8B reboot so far it is working fine.
Many thanks will keep in touch,
Wali Ashparie CTS.

Unfortunately, "optimum setup" for the BIOS is not what the d8b needs to see. You will have to meticulously set it up manually using the published settings.
