ADAT Bridge and d8b

Postby Sixto » Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:41 pm

Hello, I have a problem with the adat connection. I have a PC with XP SP3 operating system in installed Pro Tools 6.4 with an ADAT bridge interface. Also I have with two cards DIO 8 d8b console and a MFX 3.0. I have connected the d8b to the Adat bridge through the lightpipe but when return signal Pro tools to the tape in the d8b sound is going and coming. What I do not understand by that happens?

It sound like a workclock issue.

Make sure you have the same sample rate set on the d8b and ProTools. Have in mind that the d8b can only work at 44.1 and 48 Khz and no higher.

Already put Pro tools as master using word clok and sound remains the same, be and comes, you said that the PC by MIDI I connected from a SW1000XG to the d8b mixer. In addition when I connect the d8b as master from a DIO 8 card to ADAT bridge, no sounds.

If you don't have an Apogee Clock Card in the console, the d8b can only be master and the PC with ProTools has to be slaved to the incoming digital stream from the DIOn light pipes.

Thank you, the only thing that I failed in Pro Tools, was put in setup/hardware as Optical slave
