Since you don't have the apogee word clock card i don't think it is possible, someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I doubt the bios chip has anything to do with it. If it were a BIOS chip failure the CPU wouldn't even boot up.

What test did you do to finally see you were getting audio?

Ok, so i figured it out, I set the 2408 to get clock from adat, and also one of my cards were bad and that was the reason i am getting the static and the pops. thanks a bunch guys!

If you have a DIO8 card in the 1-8 slot, you can set the 2408 to slave to the ADAT port it's coming in on.

We used to have to do this before the Apogee card came out.

Hey Dan, I do have a question for you. I think my PSU is gone on my board now. It turns the mixer on, but no spin on my CPU fan. What can I do?

The CPU fan is made by a company by the name of El Cheapo. Over time, the cowling can become warped by heat and in severe cases can cause the fan to not spin because the blades get caught on said cowling. It can be replaced for a few bucks which is what you should do unless you want to take the high road and do the quiet fan mod, instructions for which can be found in the database. A link is at the top of this page, more specifically, below.

So I figured it out, somewhat. So I originally removed my vid card, ram and mobo battery to clean the connections due to multiple fatal video errors, and when I replaced everything the ram wouldn't seat properly. After I finally got the ram in right by getting some pressure below the mobo, the psu stopped working. Well, tonight I completely disassembled the computer, psu's and all and reconnected one by one. So now I got the system back working. Now I need to find a serial keyboard to reconfigure the bios.
