Marc, frankly - the cable is the best copy protection you got.
Looking forward to V2 nevertheless.....

and if you don`t know what to do beyond V2.0

Let this two gadets work together.

"Select" on D8B brings up the corresponding channel-insert in V-Control
It shouldn`t be impossible as V-Control is also using TCP/IP, isn`t it?!?!?
This would be incredible !!

Marc,

I have just purchased a D8B control surface (no psu / CPU) specifically to use with your product to control ableton live.

I am about to order your software / cable and I see with great interest about v2! This throws up a few questions!

1) should I wait for v2 and if so how long until its released?

2) will v2 work with just the control surface like v1.1 (I saw this as a significant benefit) or does v2 need the psu / CPU to operate?

3) will there be an upgrade path from v1.1 to v2?

Many thanks!

@Steve1971: D8Bridge acts as a controller only. No audio is processed thru the board. It's all described on our web site. See my signature. ( www.bluaudio.org/d8bridge )

@Marknexus: You'll have to build the power supply to use D8Bridge. The fact that you don't have the CPU/PSU means that you'll have to stay with V1.x. V2.x will be using the onboard computer for various network tasks.

Marc

Thanks for your reply. I was planning to fit a Few ac - dc power bricks of the appropriate ratings inside the console to provide power to it - I see that there has been some debate on this forum about this. I will post once it's done to advise the solution I ended up with.

So will the non CPU/ psu v1x version continue to be supported into the future? One of the key benefits that a number of people have commented on is that the current version of D8bridge removes the need for the obsolete, noisy and heavy CPU / PSU, and I think it would be a shame if this Possibility was lost. ( at least for me as I don't have the CPU/psu! :D )
