System Error 43

Postby sweck » Mon Aug 13, 2012 2:00 pm

Hey guys,

Just had my d8b for under a year, For about 6 mths of that i think the battery was going as i was getting the checksum error on boot. Last week the mixer seems to get stuck on the boot sequence, i get to the screen just before the mackie logo... its the screen thats black with blue writing on it then i get the error code 43?

the mixer cpu has not moved since it was installed last year so is it (highly) suspect that the battery is the issue?

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris,

maybe its the Hard Disk with bad Sector.
Or RAM Problems?.

Best Regards

It's easy to check the BIOS settings - see here:

If you need to change any of these, you'll probably want to change the battery as well.

error 43 is about the desk being unable to communicate to the CPU. This should happen via the DB25 cable and two serial ports are involved. So a couple of things to check:
1. does your CPU boot correctly (does the Mackie OS load, do you see the graphical image of the mixer on the monitor connected to the CPU)?
2. do you have the two serial ports enabled and configured correctly in BIOS (I/O address, IRQ, etc.)
3. does the serial cable to the console work fine - is the IDC ribbon cable connector inside the CPU box connected properly?

Hope this helps.

The first thing I do with Error 43 is dis- connect and re-connect the BFD and Data connectors, the data at both ends....it usually works.
