External E.Q. Installation

Postby reedius » Sun Sep 02, 2012 7:26 am

I have a Rane EQ that I've used while mixing with my Mackie 1604 that I want to incorporate now, I just don't know exactly "where" to install it! I want it to be a final e.q. Please help....

Are you talking about using it with a d8b? There are several options but they require that you have an AIO-8 card installed or that you use the master L/R analog outputs to send to the Rane and then on to your following devices.

Thanks Peter, and yes, I want to use it with the D8B. Just read the mini hookup manual and it gives options to bus it as well.
Thanks again.

Reedius, if you have an UFX card, I can tell you that the Massenburg Parametric is quite a beast on the master buss. It keeps you from having to do a D/A conversion just to hit the Rane. Just another option to think about.

I wish!!! I've been looking all over for one of those cards!! I'd definitely go that route if I had a UFX card, trust and believe.
New problem now though; I turned my chair around and just bumped my mixer, nothing hard, just a bump and I heard static. Thought I had maybe a lose connection somewhere because I also heard a hum. Started to playback a mix from my Mac and....nothing! Meters move but NO SOUND. Move the mixer and STATIC from the L&R outs, but no sound! About to take the back off and clean the contacts to see if this helps....

Well believe it or not, I have a UFX card I am looking to sell, if you are interested.

Sounds like a loose connection of some sort in regards to your static issues.
