All the POWER connectors are glued down but I will check again...99% of my problems have always been with these connectors

Give all the power cables a going over. The headers tend to get wonky as they get older and the ends can get intermittent, especially where the cable ends meet the header. These were made in house at the mothership and have always had that "made in the garage" vibe to them.

Will check this weekend and get back to you...would much prefer to be doing music than debugging!

Crash

Right now when I boot the system none of my UFX cards and MFX are showing up after the "Loading DSP Plugins" message is displayed - no matter what slot I swap in and out of? I have 2 UFX and 1 MFX card.

Are all of your I/O Cards being recognized by the console? This is just the FX cards? Is it booting all the way?

I feel like we are chasing our tails with this console.

Sometimes but it's inconsistent for my UFX & MFX cards
The only cards that are being recognized are my 3 Mackie OPT-8 Optical Cards

This morning I got prompt to authorize OS 5.1 again...than rebooted
D8b than recognized the cards but have no sound coming out of the board and no comm between Host/CPU and Board.

I have not reinstall O/S because I want to make sure this makes sense before I go down that road

I am unsure what to tell you with so many oddities happening and the intermittent nature of the failures. To me, the fx card issue and the OS issue seem like they could be tied to the brainboard. All you can do is check connections there and see where that takes you.

There was a lot of discussion regarding the backplane PCB attached to the card cage assembly over on the other forum. That forum is a bit hard to search these days but it may be worth a try.

OK, thus are you suggesting that I focus on that and skip the HARD-DRIVE/OS reinstall?
