Volume not boot patched ?

Postby adkerche » Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:45 pm

Hi, I am trying to reinstall OS 1.4 on an HDR 24/96 and after it loads all of the files to the HD I get the error Volume not boot patched. I'm sure this answer was on the old forum. Thanks again Mackie..

That error indicates the Mackie format utility didn't run and format the disk. I've seen this happen with the D8B, as well. As "Old School' Mike mentioned in a post somewhere on this forum, an unformatted (read unallocated) hard drive is what's required. If you're using Windoze, just mount it somehow so the OS recognizes it, and run the Disk Utility to wipe the drive. I personally use Linux and GParted works wonders...if you run MacOS, good luck - I can't add anything here...

I think if you install an unallocated drive and rerun the installer, you'll be Golden... ;)

Have at it...

Peace
