He does Peter. Please refer to the 1st post on this thread. As i had never heard of an authorization code not working before, I suggested kv68, resubmit his box ID license and esn to mackie.
Short of that, I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this.

Just as a matter of interest, kv, what is your authorisation code.

It's not going to be a problem because in order to get the request code, you have to purchase the software anyway. Further, Mackie obviously don't give a flying frankfurt anymore and that can be easily demonstrated.

DEAD NUTZ ON, Peter!

I've already got an EPROM Programmer ear-marked... I'm gonna get to the core of this issue, there IS a way around this; I'm gonna analyse the byte code in a hex editor tool, as I'm sure there's at least one address in memory that's gonna be the Linchpin that kicks the doors to this mystery WIDE OPEN... the ultimate goal being the ability to produce the byte code firmware we'd all need to move forward w/ the 5.1 release... thanx for pissing me off, Mackie... *grins mischievously*

Stay tuned, y'all...

That's the strangest box code I've ever seen. 5 sections is highly unusual. Normally its 3 and normally, it will contain numbers as well and most importantly, it should be hexadecimal which yours clearly isn't. You sure you got the right request code?

So if the ESN on the console is stored in the Eprom on the brain board, could that eprom be copied and the same auth code be used to activate any console once a new eprom is burned and installed? Is there more to it than that?

I'm pretty sure it's a rom. Codes reside on the HD.

I've just seen people selling brain boards with the selling point being that It had 5.1 auth code with it. Thats what led me to think that if you burned the correct ROM(eprom) that you would just need the code to authorize it. Or is that what you were saying and I misunderstood?
