repeating all the way till it says one moment please then
start rebooting over and over until I shut it off at the switch

I found that re-installing the Mackie os and matching the BIOS settings from the database made my d8bs ( I've had two) very solid!

Spot-On, Crash... that's EXACTLY my 1st thought... it's a very common malady with x86 hardware. From the description of the issue, it's not actually at the point of loading the MackieOS - so it would have just finished loading the BIOS and completing the POST (Power On Self-Test) execution, and unfortunately it doesn't do a really extensive of RAM test. You'll catch these boot-time RAM 'rinse/repeat' access exceptions here as described... certainly No Bueno... fortunately, however, RAM memory for these mobo's is DIRT Cheap...

been working out of town all week. sorry for the
late response. I just took out the new ram card that I just put in about
two months ago and replaced it with the old ram that was in there
the old ram was working when I replaced it. and its still rebooting after it get
to one moment please it starts all over again rebooting. could this be coming from
where I have been having trouble with the ribbon cable. the last time it was running
the sound just stopped and the metters froze up and stopped in the position they was in
that's when I started having trouble with it rebooting over and over again. I know it can be anything
but the most trouble I have been having is the ribbon cable that keeps working loose. so
I was just wondering if the ribbon cable could be the cause of the rebooting over and over.
I am lost now so any help would help thanks

I have to wonder if your motherboard gave up..... Maybe a dead HD. Hard to say on this end.

and how much can I get a mother board for. if its the hard drive
I just got one from Eric Russ. and I got the ribbon cable that's been giving everyone
trouble from him too. I just wish it was something simple. anyway thanks for any help

New motherboards for these things (DFI CB50BX) are rare as fucking Hens Teeth... they appear on eBay every once in a Blue Moon...

Joe... try booting a DOS diskette. If you can get that to work, check the video card. I'd seriously step back to Square #1 and redouble your efforts - from BIOS settings, etc. Did you change anything regarding hardware in the CPU assembly? Reset the BIOS to 'default' Mackie Specs? It certainly sounds like something within the realm of the CPU / Power Supply boxen, I wouldn't give up just yet. It very well may be that the Motherboard is 'tanking', but I'd personally recommend you condemn EVERYTHING in the boot chain as pragmatically as you possibly can first...

Had this problem twice
my d8b boots up corectly and after sam secondes or minutes looses all leds and starts rebooting again and again, it says one moment please or sam times stops on error 43. On the Vga display all seams correctly ,l mouve the faders with the mouse ,but they are not moving on the desk.
I just reseted the 4 ribben cables powers up all cards inside the d8b and all gos back to normal.
Probably some parts inside de d8b desk are not powered correctly
