As soon as my solution is working and tested I will provide necessary installation instructions. No chips have to be removed, only 1 trace must be cut (data to existing ID chip).
If you want to use this solution, you will have to provide me with any ESN you have a key to, I will program a chip and send it to you. This will cost mostly postage fees (from Austria) as the chip is very inexpensive.
But before we go into details - first let me get it working :-)

Hi Maxcz

I would like to ask you something about your chip alteration. If the ID Chip is bypassed and manage to run V5.1 without authorisation code, what happens for the other authorised plugins like FINAL MIX etc? Will the rest of the plugins be bypassed as well?

Thanks
Carlo

Nope... U16 on the Brain Board schematic, Carlo... DS2401... 6-pin IC... uses only half the package. My recommendation from what I've been seeing for this solution would be to NOT cut ANY traces - too Draconian IMHO... simply work a mini-toggle spst switch (with a 6-pin bird post socket?!?) into the pin pass-thru's for U16... it's MUCH less invasive and the mod can be easily removed if desired and the board returned to OEM specs without too much hassle... :ugeek:

Just sayin'...

However, you knew it was coming, and here it is:

Someone has to do it for me since this is too delicate procedure ..... I hope that the guy from Austria will make this breakthrough.

Cheers doktor for your advice which make a lot of sense.

Hey guys.
I would ask, who was able to copy the EPROM?
I think in the EPROM is stored only the boot program of brainboard.
I do not think any code to be written to this chip.
What's more I myself have a problem with my brainboard, and after performing various tests, it appears to me corrupt eprom.

someone who has been able to copy the EPROM has the file to record another?

Thanks

I think we slept on this issue.....

Are we still going to do the Mackie petition?

IS Maxcz still working to complete the ID chip work around project?
