Hi,

I just got a broken d8b and so far I found out that the power supply for the PC
and the mainboard is broken.

I replaced the power supply for the PC.
The Part of the old power supply for the console seems to work fine.
The console lights up and shows the Error 43 Message.

I got a normal Socket 7 mainboard to replace the old 166 MHZ Amptron Mainboard,
but it doesn't work.
I get the attached message. Mackie OS doesn't boot.
Harddrive plugged into my normal PC, seems to work.

My question:
Can I get a different mainboard for the PC Unit?
If not, where can I get the old one, for a normal price?

I was looking for the old and the new mainboard on ebay, and they sell for many hundreds of dollars.
That is crazy for such an old product.

Thanks for your time.

I tried to use different settings on the mainboard.
But nothing works.
It is not the original mainboard, so it has different settings anyway.

I am asking if someone knows if I can use a different mainboard than
the original Amprton 9800 ones.
They are just too expensive.

There's an article in the database that may be helpful -
