Thank God for this but, this thread contains a lot of reading and "techy talk" that makes it somewhat difficult to sort it all out for those of use who wish to understand what is being said.

So for us who are running other versions, and want to upgrade to 5.1, and perhaps have weaker electronic knowledge and skills ,what does all this mean?

Can we download Ver 5.1 from the mother ship (Mackie), and get a code (Key) from somewhere that will make 5.1 come alive?

Is this something we can do on our own or do our beloved d8b's need to be sent somewhere for surgery?

Is there a cost to have this do?

Not expecting answers just yet as I know the "baby has just been brought into the world", but at some point these and other questions will get asked and I thought I'd just put it out there.

Thanks for this Forum and for the people who use it and help answer all our questions. Simple or complicated.

Cheers
Bruce

Thanks but i'm curious where are the wires soldered on the U16.....

i'm referring to the 3 wires you have mentioned in your thread:

"My chip will need 3 connections: +5V, Gnd, Data"

im understanding more and more.....

can you show us please Maxcz?

Essentially, that is what you will have to do. Since Mackie won't provide codes any more, you will ned to ask a friend, relative, forum member to give a working ESN/AuthCode - Pair to you.
You can use the downloads from Mothership for setup.
If your code donor has the same plugin service pack installed as you have, you can ask for his plugin auth codes too.

Sorry, but this is the best I can do at the moment.
I understand the excitement, but be patient and wait till I have found a more convenient solution for the interconnections. This is an experimental setup only:

I want to see the eyes of those working at the mothership :) haha

such a small but effective modification that the company could have done and helped the d8b community out there.

Thanks Maxcz.

Hi Guys I started the other thread about the Mackie 5.1 Update Site being down back in April of 2013 and that LT was not doing a good job at follow through to help support me. I just found this thread today. I had given up on getting the 5.1 OS to function and was just patiently waiting on Marc to complete his Version 2 implementation. Looks like I found this at the perfect time. Great work maxcz. So thankful you did this for us. Once you have everything detailed out for us and I can implement this. I need your address so I can send you a little sum'n. If I was willing to pay LT $179.00 I can sure send you something for making it work.
