I think in 6 weeks the build in version for everybody can be sold.
The extern version with case will take about 3 weeks longer.

But i will build for everyone a Box who wants to have One.

Sounds pretty cool. Have you announced pricing yet? Thanks.

Hi Munk,
I must say you are an incredible firmware and software talent. I was wondering if it would be possible to write and alternate OS for the D8B that would allow us to use the board as originally intended, so that we could get rid of the Mackie cpu and run the D8B with any computer of our choice. With maybe the ability to load and use third party plug-ins, not to mention getting rid of "system error 43" forever. I know that you don't have a Mackie cpu, but I have a spare that I think I can get working if you think you would be interested in such an undertaking. I realize what a task this would be, but it never hurts to ask.

Have a Blessed Day,
Mike W.

Hi all

I understand that you are hardly waiting for the Probox :-) I'm working on that. Hopefully I
answer here all questions that were raised here.

- Paypal: YES, I prefer that because I think its the most
safe way for both sites.

- Price will be in the range of 200 Euros. I know that is a pretty
amout of money, but as you may understand. The probox is not only
software. You will also get a piece of hardware and that are also real costs
for me.

- The Probox will be updateable. So no panic if there
should be a bug. You will be able to update your box.
All updates will be free (even if there is a functional update)

- Kicking out the old CPU.
Yes, in fact it would be possible, If the protocol of the DSP communication
is known. But I can imagine that this is a really BIG task. The whole audio routing,
EQing control, .....
But yes, a small box and you can kick the old CPU will be a really cool thing.
Maybe with Probox 2.0 :-) But at the moment I will force the Probox project.
Thanks for your support to send me a CPU/PSU. But I think
the shipping costs to Austria/EU for that piece of HW will be too much :-)

What I forgot.

regarding the Audio Part I was talking about. I realized, that there is really a very limited function that makes no sense to be implemented.(you will only get out the talkback). So I decided to make a different solution.

No Audio will be supported by the Probox, as Talkback alone is not really much.

All Buttons/Vpots that are not used as MCU Emulation will have a function as a GENERIC REMOTE on the 4th Midi Port over USB. So you can set additional different controls in your DAW that are not MCU related.

For me I will use the whole PHONES/Talkback section to control the Cubase Control Room Mixer. For me that is much more usable as a small Audio functionallity.

best regards
