Frollicking faders

Postby p2h » Fri Jul 25, 2014 4:52 pm

Ok, I'm just asking to double check myself and trying to rule out anything that I might have overlooked;
when you load frollicking faders or galloping faders, the next step is to engage the "play" button, correct?
So if nothing happens, that might indicate what...? Still learning, Thanks for any replies.

You need to have time code coming into the console so the automation works and I can't remember which bank it was done on. Mic/line or tape.

Sorry for the non-knowledge, but what's the best way to get that signal?
I have the apogee card and I do get the meters from cubase and mout dp8 to move
(d8b and the daw)in smpte mode--no faders at all though--no audio, jus hum. What can I do?

Do you have your automation sussed out on the d8b? Once you get that going, you should be frolicking. I refer you to the manual to get all your connections right as it would be easier than me typing it out on the forum. Happy frolicking

Crash, I have an orig sync card and a borrowed apogee card; I've had the d8b follow the transport functions of protools 10 (play-rew-etc) but no faders at all, cubase as well. The d8b recognizes the apogee sometimes/sometimes not...when recognized it says--locked. I erased the startup files---I loaded FF and the software faders will move on screen---no console faders. Now, what else could you mean by Sussex out? Thanks.

I don't see any time rolling in that video. In this vid you can see the time display counting which means it has proper connections for automation to work.

Look this over as well...maybe that'll get you up and going.

I just saw this one. Can you get just a simple signal into one of the d8b inputs to work? Say a mic signal hitting the console routed to the 2 bus so you hear it and verify signal that far? I would start basic in your troubleshooting and add things to see where it goes off the rails.
